Gathering more than 1,200 booths of more than 100 domestic and international wood industry enterprises, Q-Fair 2025 is a ‘playground’ for manufacturers, importers and exporters of outdoor wood products.
Opening opportunities for investment and business cooperation
Speaking at the opening of the Fair, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh – Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee – said that in 2024, the wood industry has affirmed its leading role when the export turnover reached nearly 1.1 billion USD, an increase of 15% compared to 2023, accounting for about 62% of the total export turnover of the whole province.
In recent years, Binh Dinh province has actively encouraged wood processing enterprises to diversify markets; apply advanced technology; use wood from sustainably managed forests, with FSC certification, etc.
At the same time, trade promotion activities have received increasing attention and investment with policies to support enterprises to participate in domestic and foreign fairs and exhibitions in line with reality, contributing to strengthening activities to build and develop brands and product labels to increase added value and find markets for product consumption.
“Q-Fair2025 not only promotes trade in the wood industry but also contributes to promoting the image of Binh Dinh – a dynamic, friendly destination with great development potential. The fair will continue to become an important event in the province’s wood industry development strategy, towards a green, sustainable industry, applying advanced technology and digital transformation”, said Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh.
On the part of the Q-Fair 2025 organizing committee, Mr. Le Minh Thien – Vice President of the Vietnam Timber and Forest Products Association – President of the Binh Dinh Timber and Forest Products Association – said that the Vietnamese wood processing industry, especially in Binh Dinh – a famous place as the center of the Outdoor industry – is growing strongly.
Therefore, organizing Q-Fair 2025 is not only an opportunity for businesses to display wood products, outdoor products with rich, unique designs and good quality, but also an opportunity to demonstrate the creativity, applicability of technology, advanced machinery and equipment, especially machines integrated with artificial intelligence (AI) in processing and manufacturing wood products towards the goal of developing a sustainable and effective wood processing industry in the period of 2021 – 2030, reaching 2 billion USD of Binh Dinh’s wood industry and 20 billion USD of wood export turnover nationwide.
“Q-Fair 2025 is not only an ideal opportunity to promote products, services and brands, but also opens up opportunities for business cooperation, finding technological solutions, sharing knowledge, experience, skills, and creating strategic partnerships for wood industry enterprises and wood support industries to overcome many unprecedented difficulties and challenges in international markets and in the domestic business environment. At the same time, together we will find breakthrough directions and new solutions in the strategy of diversifying markets and customers, contributing to bringing the wood processing industry and the forestry industry of Vietnam to new heights,” Mr. Le Minh Thien informed.
Seize the opportunity to break out strongly
From the perspective of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Mr. Bui Quang Hung – Deputy Director of the Trade Promotion Agency – said that the Vietnamese wood industry in general and the Binh Dinh wood industry in particular are facing many great opportunities to make a strong breakthrough. Currently, Vietnam is the largest wood exporting country in the world and the second largest in Asia, with an estimated export turnover of 16.28 billion USD in 2024, an increase of 20.9% compared to 2023.
Global consumption trends are shifting to sustainable, environmentally friendly products, especially in the outdoor furniture sector. New-generation free trade agreements such as EVFTA, CPTPP, RCEP and CEPA continue to open up tariff incentives and create favorable conditions for Vietnamese wood enterprises to penetrate deeper into international markets.
In particular, Binh Dinh’s wood industry has advantages in terms of highly skilled human resources, a closely linked business ecosystem and active support from local authorities in developing production and logistics infrastructure. However, in addition to great opportunities, Vietnam’s wood industry also faces many challenges. Key export markets such as the US, EU and Japan are increasingly tightening regulations related to legal wood traceability, carbon emission reduction and social responsibility.
To take advantage of opportunities and overcome challenges, Mr. Bui Quang Hung said that wood industry enterprises must promote the application of modern technology in production to increase added value, meet international standards on sustainability (such as FSC) and green design. This is especially important for the outdoor wood segment – a popular field in the US and EU.
Applying digital technology, artificial intelligence, virtual reality in product design, display and customer approach will help businesses expand their market effectively, especially in the context of increasingly growing e-commerce. In addition, businesses need to proactively improve their ability to comply with regulations on origin of goods, optimize supply chains and effectively take advantage of tariff incentives to increase exports.
In addition, with a population of over 100 million people and increasing demand for wood products, Vietnam is a large potential market. Businesses need to focus on researching tastes and designing products to suit the needs of domestic consumers. The domestic market currently accounts for only about 20% of total wood industry revenue, showing that there is still much room for exploitation.
On the side of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Hung – Head of the Forestry Processing and Trade Department (Department of Forestry and Forestry) – informed that in 2024, the Vietnamese wood and forest products processing industry overcame many difficulties to maintain growth, especially the efforts of wood and forest product associations and enterprises in the production and processing of forest products.
In particular, the successful organization of annual wood and wood product fairs, including Q-Fair of the Binh Dinh Wood and Forest Products Association, to attract customers, contributed to bringing the export value of wood and forest products in 2024 to a record high, reaching over 17.34 billion USD, accounting for 27.7% of the export value of the agricultural sector, an increase of 20% compared to 2023.
Continue to bring the export value of wood and wood products to rank 6th in the world, 2nd in Asia and top in Southeast Asian countries. This is an encouraging result, demonstrating the continuous efforts of enterprises, associations and the support of state management agencies.
Entering 2025, in the context that the wood and forestry processing industry is still facing many difficulties due to global trade developments, therefore, the export target of 18 billion USD set by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment is a big challenge.
To achieve the export target of wood and forestry products in 2025, in the context of many unpredictable fluctuations mentioned above, diversifying product consumption markets through organizing trade promotion activities, including organizing Q-Fair to connect markets, plays an extremely important role.
The 2025 International Outdoor Style Fair (Q-Fair 2025) is held from March 6 to March 9, 2025 at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square, Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province, and has become an important annual trade and export promotion event in March for the Vietnamese wood industry.
Gathering more than 1,200 booths of more than 100 domestic and international wood industry enterprises related to outdoor products, serving modern lifestyles in the world, this is not only an international exhibition fair for Outdoor products of the whole country, but also shows the new, unique, and distinctive features of Binh Dinh wooden furniture in particular and the Vietnamese wood industry in general.
In addition, Q-Fair 2025 is both a place to display Outdoor products, services and advanced technology and machinery in the wood industry; It is both a meeting point for trade between manufacturers, importers and exporters, product and service suppliers and international purchasing partners.
